ned2
After looking around a bit, I didn't find info or further steps. We tried messing with cables and terminators, new tapes, cleaning,... Perhaps someone could direct me to other ideas,..thanks..! System Info: Retrospect Version and build # - Retrospect 5.0.205 and the 2.8 driver set RDU # (if present) - ? Computer Model and speed - Power PC G4 DP450 OS X build version # - 10.1.5 (and Earlier versions) Device - Seagate STT20000N rev 6A51 (from Club Mac) Device firmware - ? Device interface - SCSI (w/active Granite Terminator) Adapter Card - Initio bluenote (INI-9090U) Adapter Card firmware - 3.06 Adapter Card driver for OS X - 1.0 Media brand and size - Imation Travan 20 GB Other Devices Connected - Internal zip and DVD-Rom (ATA factory install) Problem: In OS 9, with Retrospect 4.3 it works perfectly. In OS X, it finds the drive and we can write to it. But when we try to update the backup we always get the "Catalog out of Sync" alert message. When we then try to rebuild the catalog in the "Tools" menu it never stops searching and finds no files. When backing up between internal drives and/or partitions this is not a problem - only going to the tape drive. This drive and card seem to be qualified,...any ideas...?? Thanks again..! IrenaS
What are the pin configurations of the card and the drive? Have you tried it on another computer?
ned2
Irena, --What are the pin configurations of the card and the drive?-- I am not sure what you mean, do you mean where the jumpers are, or is there way to check in software? --Have you tried it on another computer?-- trying to find one Thanks Ned
IrenaS
By checking the pin configuration, I just mean this: take a look at the connector on the back of the computer, and the connector on the back of the drive. Do they have the same number and arrangement pins? Please post results when you are able to try another computer as well. Thanks!

Do they have the same number and arrangement pins?-- The back of the card has a 50 pin microD connector and the Drive has a 50 Pin Centronics on the back of the case. We are using a new adapter and cable to connect the two. I suppose I could try to mount it internally in the CD area and connect with an internal cable – to test it,....but that seems kind of out there. --Please post results when you are able to try another computer as well.-- hopefully soon. thanks
