Delegator
I have a backup job that has gotten stuck with 12.6 GB to go. It looks like I have to recreate my backup catalog, and I'm OK with that. However, the job has been stuck "Canceling Execution..." for hours now. In the past I've shot the Retrospect and retrorun processes to get out of this situation, but that ended up corrupting my preferences. Is there a better way to make this operation finish winding down so that I can recreate my catalogs? Thanks.
emulator
I've found that if the hung backup is a networked client, I can stop the Retro service on the client, and that will sometimes cause the Retrospect server to finish things up. Ericfoos
That's what I do too. If the user is not around and the machine is locked, I pull the network cable out and wait 20 seconds before plugging it back in. When I go back to the server console, Retrospect has moved along. I then send the user a message to reboot their machine at some point before the backups run again.
