socokid
10.4.11 Server running Retrospect 6.1.126. Simply trying to backup up data from Mac server to SCSI connected, Mac OS Extended Journaled hard drives (they are NOT DOS/PC formatted). Keeps failing saying there is a 2.0 GB size limit. Any ideas? Thank you... UPDATE: Just tried with 6.1.230 and the issue remains. What is odd, is that this limit isn't present for one of the connected drives, it can backup up well over 2.0 GBs, but the other connected drive (connected to the same SCSI device) gives this error. socokid
I reformatted the drive, works fine now... strange. Thank you.
GMRMacBackup
It sounds like you fixed your own problem, congrats! If your drive was originally formatted as an MS-DOS FAT16 volume you will get an error when copying files larger than 2GB, it is a limitation of the format itself. Formatting it as an Apple Partition Map or GUID Partition Table allows you to save much larger files.
