LionelJohnson
Hi: I have been running Retrospect Professional version 6.5 on an XP machine which I am replacing with a Vista 64-bit machine. I understand that I need to upgrade to Retrospect Professional 7.6 for the Vista box which is fine. Is there a way to transfer my XP-based 6.5 settings (volumes, scripts, etc.) to 7.6 on the Vista box? Thanks Lionel
Mayoff
Not easily. This is a big jump. You would need to install 7.0 and open Retrospect. This creates the 7.0 preferences imported from 6.5. You can then install 7.6 which should be able to import the 7.0 settings. You then need to copy the Retrospect preferences from the XP computer to Vista, edit all of your scripts to see the local disks and backup sets. LionelJohnson
Robin: Thanks for the quick response. However, wouldn't your suggestion require me to upgrade first to 7.0 and then to 7.6, incurring an upgrade price twice? Thanks Lionel
Mayoff
You can download the software from our website and install it, but I don't know if launching it without the license code will import the preferences into the new preference file. Old license code purchases are unavailable.
