Jürgen
Hi, I'm using Retrospect Professional 7.6.111 on Windows 98SE (all updates, fully patched) with great satisfaction. So far I had no problems with Retrospect updates and Retrospect was updated as expected. But now update ru761101 won't install. I have tried - to install ru761101.exe and ru761101au.exe on-line and off-line - to install ru761101.exe on three more or less identical Windows 98SE systems The results are always the same: after installation of the update and restart of Retrospect Professional 7.6.111 Retrospect Update doesn't show this update as installed and offers ru761101 as a new update to be installed. Is there any remedy for this? Best regards Jürgen

Mayoff
I can say for sure that version 7.6 has not been tested in Windows 98.
Jürgen
I can say for sure that version 7.6 has not been tested in Windows 98. From http://www.emcinsignia.com/assets/ds_win76bus_en.pdf: EMC® Retrospect® 7.6 for Windows Data Protection for Small and Medium Business. Supported in EMC Retrospect 7.6 for Windows Business Editions: Computers that run Retrospect: A single desktop or notebook computer running Windows XP (32-bit and x64), Windows 2000 Professional, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Windows 98/Me. Mayoff
I believe this is for the client only and not the backup server. We will double check.
blm14
Jurgen why can you not just install something newer? Windows98 is extremely old, unreliable, and unsupported by almost all new software packages. I dont even think microsoft still supports it.
