Roxie2401
I keep getting the following error from the Installer: "The updater could not find a valid copy of Retrospect installed." I do have version 7.6.111 installed and it works properly. Also, it was installed in the default location and am running Windows XP Professional. This is the first time an updater has failed with this error message. Also, when I select "Help/Retrospect Updates" it does indicate that this "Hot Fix" is available and should be downloaded/installed. Is there a problem with this ru? Mayoff
is Retrospect installed in the default path?
Roxie2401
Yes, its installed in the default. C:\Program Files\Retrospect\Retrospect 7.6 At least I made no changed during the install, so I'm assuming that is the correct default. Also, the ru does not ask for a path; is it looking for some other location?
Roxie2401
I have even placed the ru in the Retrospect 7.6 folder and tried to run it from there. Still get the same message: "Unable to find ......" And yet Retrospect 7.6.111 is running just fine. The is the first ru that I have not been able to install. Where is it looking for a valid installation? Is there a Registry entry I should be checking?
Mayoff
You can try to uninstall and reinstall Retrospect and then try again. You only need this RDU if you need support for the new storage devices.
Roxie2401
I understand that I probably don't need this RDU but will the next one also have the same install problem? Out of curiosity, what is the difference between ru761101.exe and ru761101au.exe? For some reason, the second one did install.... Thanks for the advice.
