Adrian CGW
I am using Retrospect Desktop 6.1.136 on Mac Pro. Apple asked me to do an Archive and Install to solve a problem, OR - use Time Machine to backup. But I have Retrospect - so can it faithfully backup all files including system and Preference files for an Entire Restore if it is needed? Thanks
Mayoff
Yes. It doesn't hurt to use Retrospect and Time Machine. The more backups you have, the safer you are.
Wh1te_Rabb1t
Correct me if I am wrong, but I have read different reports that you should avoid backing up a Time Machine file IN Retrospect. It causes an application crash or something like that. You can back up your files in both programs, just don't try to back up the archive files from one program on the other. I know that sounds redundant, but if people are backing up the whole drive, they may forget they have an extra archive file on the drive somewhere. Mayoff
Retrospect can not backup time machine data on your time machine hard disk. I backup my entire hard disk to one disk partition with Retrospect and I let time machine backup my internal disk to yet another partition.
