Trouble in Retrospect

Recommended Posts

Can anyone let me know what this means:

-----------------------------

Trouble in Retrospect:

Internal consistency check failed:

Assertion check at "tyce.c-2393"

-----------------------------

I'm running Retrospect Version 6.1.126 on Mac OSx 10.4.11

Recently added an iMac to the 2 existing macs we back up.

WARNING: I AM NO TECH EXPERT. PLEASE BE KIND! (and patient!)

Added a folder on this hard disk (imac hard disk) to the list of folders I wanted to back up (I edited an existing script - "sources" - added desired folder. It appears in the list of folders to be backed up, but it's 'greyed out'. When I run Retrospect I'm asked for Server login detail (which I don't have...and never did need whilst running this to any other mac.

Any quick fix / obvious problem anyone can see before I spend hours reading manuals?... Or call out the techie at 150 bucks an hour?

Are you sure the folder you added is actually on the internal HD of the machine Retrospect is running on?

It sounds as if you might have added a folder that lives on another computer on your network. It was mounted on your Desktop when you added it to Retrospect, but now it's no longer connected. Retrospect can't "see" it (so it's grey) until it's mounted locally. That's what the login details are for.

Robin, Dave, thanks. eh, actually, No, the folder I added lives on the new iMac. http://forums.dantz.com/skins/fusionbb/icons/blush.gif'>http://forums.dantz.com/skins/fusionbb/icons/blush.gif

I edited an existing script by adding a (sources) folder which lives on the iMac. So, I need to have Retrospect Client software installed on this new iMac before I can assign folders to back up, right? (where can I get this?)

Thanks for your help...
