Retrospect and Firewall

Recommended Posts

A simple search in the forum or in the knowledgebase or even the Retrospect users guide will tell you that Retrospect uses port 497 for UDP and TCP traffic. Retrospect uses Multicast and subnet broadcast methods. Initial client lookup happens using UDP packets.

I suspect UDP is being blocked on port 497.

Your best bet is to configure the comodo firewall to allow all network traffic from the Retrospect.exe application.

You do this by defining Retrospect as a trusted application to comodo as shown in the screen shot.

In this screen shot an older version of Retrospect is pictured. For example if you have version 7.5 then the path will be:

C:\Program Files\Retrospect\Retrospect 7.5\Retrospect.exe
