It looks like the restore failed right away. Are you sure you have always been using Retrospect 5.6 and not a newer version? 5.6 is super old.

What happens if you use the middle restore option and pick and choose specific files to be restored, not the entire disk.

I did the upgrade to Professional v7.5, but this is what happened - is there a way to 'repair' the snapshot - remember, it was created with a Retrospect Express v5.6

+ Retrospect version 7.5.508

Launched at 4/9/2008 5:33 PM

+ Driver Update and Hot Fix, version 7.5.13.100

+ Executing Download Retrospect Driver and Hot Fixes version: 7.5.14.102 at 4/9/2008 5:42 PM (Temporary Execution unit 2)

Current Retrospect Driver and Hot Fixes version: 7.5.13.100

Preparing to execute...

Downloading installer ru7514102au.exe

Downloading to folder C:\Users\FRIGID~1\AppData\Local\Temp

Launching installer ru7514102au.exe

Execution completed successfully

Exit at 4/9/2008 5:43 PM

+ Retrospect version 7.5.508

Launched at 4/9/2008 5:45 PM

+ Driver Update and Hot Fix, version 7.5.14.102

+ Executing Restore from Backup at 4/9/2008 5:54 PM

To volume New4600C-C (G:)...

The selected Snapshot is no longer valid

4/9/2008 5:54:34 PM: Execution incomplete

What exactly did you do when trying to repair the catalog? Which repair options did you use? I also suspect the log has 1 or 2 more lines about the repair attempt, that could he helpful.

You should be doing a "repair file backup set" (bottom option), if this is a file backup set.
