Drive cluster size

Old thread I know, but since it's the only one that popped up in my search for "cluster size" here goes!

 

I've been researching this tonight because I'm partitioning some new and big volumes. Given I have >64TB of Retrospect disk files that are all ~650MB each I'm thinking I can live with the 64K of slack space per file :D

 

The first time it even crossed my mind was when the partition size I was using exceeded 16TB and therefore 4K cluster size was too small. Since I don't intend to use the disk for anything other than Retrospect, 64K makes sense I believe.
