Retrospect does not "refuse to recognize" external drives. Retrospect can store a File Backup Set on any mounted volume, or, if you configure the preferences of the application, Retrospect can treat your fixed plater Micronet external drive as if it were a removable device. It just depends on what Type of Backup Set you want to use.
