Snapshot phase taking very long time to complete

About six days ago, I noticed that it is taking a very long time to back up 15 - 37 GB of data on a Vista machine. Client machines running Xp Sp2 are backing up normally. Only the Vista machine has this problem. Upon inspection of the log, I noticed that the snapshot phase is the cause. This happened suddenly and for no apparent reason.

I am running Retrospect Pro 7.5.387 with driver update & hotfix 7.5.13.100 (both have been runng well before the issue started).

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Retrospect; rolled back the system state to date prior to the problem starting with no effect on the length of time. Even a 10GB progressive backup takes 2 - 3 hours to complete and it is always due to the increased snapshot phase time.

Any ideas?

Well, actually two things have. This month's Tuesday patches, and your number of files could have increased to the point where you have pushed it over the edge. And your catalog size has grown with each backup, increasing the amount of RAM needed to sort it.

Just a suggestion to try 2G.
