Backup script sometimes kills retrospect

Recommended Posts

I run Retrospect for Workgroup 6.1.138 on my OS X Server 10.4.11 running on an Intel Mac Mini. Soon after I installed Security Update 2007-009 1.0, the script that backs up this server sometimes kills retrospect. In the log, the last entry (prior to my manual launch of Retrospect) would be "Copying System Disk...". Retrospect does not automatically relaunch after this happens (I normally leave Retrospect Server running 24 hours a day). It does not happen every time this script runs, but it always happens in the copying phase on this particular local drive (the 2nd of 3 volumes on the server).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jascha

No, unfortunately not. I've updated to 1.1 in the meantime, but it still happens occasionally (but not always). I too can backup clients, but it just sometimes crashes trying to backup that one volume. Have you tried selecting "Do not backup ACLs on Intel machines" in the OS X preferences?
