suprsonic
Hi, I just started using restrospect 10.4 today...I was helping a friend backing up the whole hard drive of the mac book (60g) onto a partition of an external hard drive (60g). how big will the backup files be? currently, it took up all of the partition of the external hard drive and only finished backing up 47gb so far but already finished using up the whole partition which is 60gb in size, what is taking up the other 13gb of space? and how much space would i really need to backup the 60gig hard drive? thanks! barmar
Have you tried enabling compression? I backed up 7.3 GB today, and the backup file was 4.7 GB. However, if lots of your data is video and music, it's already compressed so there probably won't be as much of a saving.
