tlawsod
Hello, Retrospect 6.0.204 Mac OS 10.3.9 Problem: I want to delete some backed-up files from a backup session on a volume, but Retrospect will not show me the files. The volume (on a partitioned external hard drive) is mounted on the Desktop. From the Retrospect Directory, I select Configure > Volumes, then select the volume from the Volumes Database window and click Browse. According to Retrospect Help ("Viewing a Stand-alone Browser"), Retrospect is supposed to "scan the selected volume, then display a browser window listing all the folders and files contained in the selected volume." Then, according to "Deleting Files", I can use the" Delete from Disk command to remove files from a volume." Instead of seeing the actual files backed-up on the volume, however, all I see are the backup set file, the backup set file catalog, and an empty .Trashes folder. If I do Retrospect Directory > Reports > Contents, I can select the backup set and the session, and see the files backed-up during that session. But, of course, I cannot delete any files while "browsing" a backup set according to "Deleting Files" in Help. I originally asked EMC Insignia Support for help but was told I would have to pay for it. So, I'm hoping fellow users can help. Thanks in advance. Retrospect for Macintosh doesn't allow for selectively deleting data files from a Backup Set. Dave
