jhg
Yesterday there was a post from abradaxis lamenting the quality of support on the forums. I contributed a general agreement, praising Retrospect's architecture and design, and bemoaning the apparent death-spiral in which Retrospect finds itself since being bought by EMC. That entire thread is now gone, which I assume is censorship. I expect that this post will be deleted also. Is this any way to treat people who LIKE and WANT TO USE your product? A version of this message is also being posted to alt.backup-software
Mayoff
Yes, this post has been edited and the prior thread is gone. Don't believe everything you read. Retrospect is alive and well. We are actually hiring and increasing the size of the staff. An organization that was "dead" would not spend tens of thousands of dollars on a booth at Macworld SF 2008. The forum is a place for post technical support questions in a USER based forum. It is NOT a place to complain about EMC, bash the product or the staff who produce it. The forum rules are very clear: MPORTANT: Employees of EMC may respond to issues within this forum. EMC is under no duty to provide a response to an issue, or to do so in a timely manner. If EMC responds to an issue, it is EMC's intent that the information provided is accurate and reliable. However, given the expectation of the forum to provide real-time responses not all information will be readily verifiable. ACCORDINGLY, EMC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY IT UNDER THIS FORUM, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR SATISFACTORY QUALITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON INFRINGEMENT. Users of this forum may want to refer to information provided by Dantz through its Knowledge Base database at www.emcinsignia.com/support for more detailed information on a particular issue. EMC may provide information that is relevant to an international issue, which may contain references or cross references to EMC products, programs and services that are not announced in your country. Such reference does not imply that EMC intends to announce such products, programs or services in your country. EMC reserves the right to delete or remove user content from the site and to restrict, suspend or terminate an individual's access to all or part of the site, at any time for any reason without prior notice or liability. If you have concerns about the products, the EMC staff or the future of Retrospect, call EMC Insignia and ask to speak with a manager. The Forum is just not the right place for such topics.
