randun
My external hard drive (120 GB) is currently full. I'm using Retrospect 7.5. I'd like to start completely from scratch and create an entirely new backup set thus clearing the external drive of all past backups. My question is what backup files should I keep to safely accomplish what I want to do? The reason I've gotten to this point is that after an OS upgrade & a reinstall of 7.5 my primary backup set was corrupted and secondly, I have the backup settings set to "Groom to Retrospect defined policy", but it doesn't seem to work as I have backup sets dating back to 2005! Of course, the latter may be my misunderstanding of how that setting actually functions. Ideas? Thanks.
Mayoff
Why not just do a recycle backup? Why delete everything and create a new backup set?
randun
Please bear with me but how do I perform a recycle backup?! My reasoning for starting over completely is I now have a new OS & Retrospect is not managing my backups correctly, or at least how I understand how the program works in terms of grooming. The latter is why my external drive is maxed out. Thanks!
