bmoore
Hi, I must be doing something wrong (won't be the first time with Retrospect) but I am unable to add a Vista client. I don't see the computer name in the list and even if I give the IP address, still no luck. Is there something special to do when adding a Vista Client? I have client version 7.5.116, I think it is the last one. I am still new to Retrospect so I apologize if my problems look obvious! Thank you Brigitte
Mayoff
What version of Retrospect are you using? What is the error reported when trying to add by address? What edition of Vista is this?

tdickson
I had that problem just yesterday. It was the Windows Firewall on the Vista Box. I had to go into the windows firewall settings and set an exception for the retrospect client software then it did find it.
Mayoff
What version of 7.5? Can you ping the client? Try to turn off all firewalls.
bmoore
On the server 7.5.387 I will check the firewall settings and let you know. Thank you Brigitte
Mayoff
Firewall is the most common cause. If the firewall is open, try to Telnet using port
