Gagne
OK - I used Dantz for years and it worked fine. Upgraded system and also Retrospect to EMCs version. All was fine until I realized the following. When I backup I DUPLICATE my HD to another HD and then another HD. Main HD gets DUP'd twice. Before, I could remove files off the Main HD and they would remain untouched on the other 2 HDs. WIth EMS' version - it removed all files I removed off of the Main HD as well!!! Now I am left with a huge problem of receovering these files? Any fixes for this????
Mayoff
The Retrospect code for Duplicate is identical from Dantz to EMC..... You have not provided very many details about your configuration. I would assume your destination option is set to "Replace entire Disk" which is the default (and always has been the default) option. This option is defined in the user's guide as: "Replaces the entire contents of the destination volume with the selected files and folders from the source volume. Identical files already present on the destination are not duplicated" If it isn't on the source, then it gets removed from the destination. The following warning dialog box is also displayed during the duplicate setup. http://screencast.com/t/Tbk4ntckOBv A data recovery service would be needed to recover deleted files
