stoneyj50
Every 5 minutes my active window becomes inactive all by itself. From previous suggestions found via google it was supposedly a possible trojan/virus/adware. I have run virus sweets and ad sweeps to no avail. In Taskmanager I noted that the file process Retrospect.exe (priority set at normal) will normally occupy only about 2% of my CPU every once in awhile. But every 5 minutes it disappears from the processes altogether for about 10 seconds. It then comes back and grabs a handfull of CPU from 23% to 85% for a brief second or two and then goes back to its normal mode for another 5 minutes. At the same time it does this my Task Manager window becomes inactive (does so for Outlook, IE, Word and other apps). I have directly observed this sequence with the active window going inactive. I am using XP Pro w SP2 and all updates. Any ideas? Scott
Mayoff
This is a bug in Retrospect Express HD. The only workaround at this time is to exit Express HD from the task bar when you do not need to perform a backup.
