ReneGarneau
The back-up doesn't work anymore and it seems that it is since I've upgraded the OS to 10.4.11. The error in the log is: Can't find any Tape Storage Devices This is under Retrospect 6.1.126 and also after updating to 6.1.138 We use Exabyte VXA 2 Tape Drive. Maybe I need to update the Driver for the Tape Drive???? Anyone has any ideas?

Could you tell us (all) about it? - Can you see the drive in Apple System Profiler?
ReneGarneau
It's a G4, Desktop, 466MHz, 1.5 GB RAM We use this computer as our Server; 2 G5s are connected to it. Retrospect is set-up to back-up only that G4 Server and a Firewire 120 GB LaCie drive that's connected to that G4. The drive shows up in the System Profiler (under Firewire). rhwalker
What RDU do you have? (See the Retrospect logs - RDU version is printed on launch). RDU versions are here: http://kb.dantz.com/article.asp?article=7886&p=2 We have the SCSI version of this drive with autoloader, so I can't help you there. Have you changed any settings on the drive (such as the string that it reports)? What does Exabyte's vxatool report for the Vendor and Product ID and firmware? Here's what ours shows: Code: mail:~/Documents/Exabyte/VXA_firmware admin$ ./vxatool -S vxatool V4.62 -- Copyright © 1996-2006, Exabyte Corp. Scanning your system for tape devices...OK Device | Address ------------------------+----------------- EXABYTE VXA-2 | TAPE1 Done mail:~/Documents/Exabyte/VXA_firmware admin$ ./vxatool TAPE1 -i vxatool V4.62 -- Copyright © 1996-2006, Exabyte Corp. ReneGarneau
Thanks for your answer. RDU 6.1.13.101 Well, I repaired the permissions with Disk Utility and now it's working fine. (that will teach me to repair permissions after installing/upgrading Software/OS) Thanks again.
