gehulse
Wanting to have a "clone" of my internal HD [OS 9.1],I decided to use Retrospect Express 4.3 to "Duplicate" my internal HD to a LaCie FW external partition. --Two things resulted: [1] Of my 10 GB internal HD, 3.82 GB is used, but the duplicated copy on the 10 GB LaCie drive shows 6.92GB used! almost double! ---[2] Retrospect Express changes the icon of the LaCie HD to a distinctly different looking one—I suppose this doesn't hurt anything...? --My main concern is the 3 GB or so that "disappeared". I compared both sets and there aren't any extra copies or such. --I used TechTool Lite 3.0.4 to Delete/Rebuild Desktop on both my source and destination HDs,but that didn't "fix" the problem. --Thanks in advance for your help. gehulse
I've noticed another result of using Retro.Express' s "Duplicate" feature: usually I'd have 3 desktop printers with one as default. When I mount my 7 partitions of LaCie FW,I then have a 4th. desktop printer which is "disabled" because it's actually on one of the external partitions[Mac OS 9.2]. ---Now,however,all 4 desktop printers are "disabled" ["X'd out] even though I can still print. The main menu no longer shows the "Printing" menu when I try to select any of the printers since they are all "X'd out". Not only that, none of them are on my internal HD which is what I'm working off. One's on Mac OS 9.2 [=OK] but the other 3 are all on the partition I named Mac OS 9.1 Clone[this is the one that changed form].
