steve-news
I've done a duplicate function of my computer to my external HD. All well and good. I had a file on the desktop, I can use "find" to see that it's on my external HD, in the "Desktop Folder". How can I actually see and/or get to this file? There isn't really a desktop "folder"...would I only see it if I booted off of the external HD? If I saved a change to the actual desktop file and wanted to retrieve the unchanged backup file, how would I do it? Again, I'm using the "duplicate" feature. Thanks
Mayoff
If you duplicated to the root of the destination disk, then the items will appear on the current desktop. If you duplicated to a subvolume, then you should see a "desktop folder" item inside the folder used for the destination.
steve-news
SO, if I did a duplication of my computer (all files), but directed it to a blank folder I've created the external HD, I'll get the "Desktop Folder" as a file? Is that correct? Thanks (Makes sense, i think!) Steve
