steve-news
Hi all...Newbie (retrospect 5) here... Wonder if, after reviewing the forums, the following will work (machine off-site...working on it this afternoon): Backing up everything on G4 Mac (~4.5 G data, OS 9.1) to LaCie 39 GB external HD. 1. Want to do "normal" backup so I can have quick backups, only back up data changed/modified etc. 2. Need to format External Drive to HFS+ to avoid 2GB problem? Is this true, I'm a bit confused on limitation of "catalog set" v. "backup set"? 3. If I create run document to do normal backup, place file in shutdown items, and check off the "shut down" preference in retrospect, I should have backup run when machine is shut down, then when, done, machine ~will~ actually shut down? Thanks for any help!
Mayoff
Yes, the disk should be HFS+ The Run document will probably not work right in the Shutdown items. Set the Retrospect preferences to shutdown when done. Open the run document to start the backup and shutoff the computer.
