Finger
I have a new copy of Express, Mac 9.2, and a Quantum DLT4000. SCSI Probe finds the tape drive but Retrospect says it is not a usable device. Any suggestions?
AmyJ
Upgrade to Retrospect Desktop or higher - DLT tape drives are not supported in the Express product. http://www.dantz.com/en/upgrades/index.dtml
Finger
Your kidding! This is a brand new program I bought along with hardware and cannot be returned. The Dantz web site lists the Quantum as a supported drive and did not state Express supported hardware is different. I even called tech support and was told if the drive is on the site, it works with all products.
AmyJ
I'm sorry if the information you were given was unclear. Here is the online storage device compatibility page for the DLT4000, which lists that the minimum requirement is Desktop: http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=compatibility_list_detail&id=7738 Here is the Macintosh online product comparison matrix, which does not list SCSI tape drive support with Express: http://www.dantz.com/products/maccompare.html For upgrade pricing through Dantz, please see: http://www.dantz.com/en/upgrades/
