kjctny
I "stopped execution" during a back up to an "existing back up set" because it was copying audio tracks which takes so long. I had forgotten to tell the back up to "exclude cool items". So, I stopped execution, clicked in options to "exclude cool items" and then it let me to continue the back up. It did continue from the right place, but was only able to "compare it's catalogue or index to the MacHardDrive" on the last Disc which was after the aborted execution. So my question is: Is all of the new back up files/folders/info properly indexed so that it can be acessed for retrieval??
Mayoff
When you stop the backup, Retrospect updates the catalog file without missing any files. This should allow a restore, as long as no problem happened when writing the files to the backup media. Because the backup was stopped, the files copied did not get verified to make sure they were copied identically to the original.
davidjenkins
This happened to me too because compare was taking too long (needed more application memory, I think). I stopped RE. Is there any way to "re-compare" and reverify the backup set?
Mayoff
If the compare is stopped, you can't go back and start it again. You would need to backup the data again and allow the compare to finish. You can use Tools>verify to check the media, but it is not the same as a compare during backup.
