ManFromGlad
I am new to Retrospect. (Ok, I used it back in the early nineties on Macs.) I have just received my new Windows 5.6 Workgroup software, and have discovered that I need the Server edition to do any backing up of clients that are located remotely over the internet behind firewalls. Can someone please confirm whether the Subnet broadcast option along with an open port 497 on the remote firewall is sufficient to access all clients (on a single subnet) behind the firewall. Has anyone succeeded in remotely backing up machines with Retrospect Backup Server over the public internet? Please give me an idea of whether it is relatively easy to set-up/support? I would like to have a better feel of Server's capabilities before I return the Workgroup version and upgrade to Server version Thanks
Mayoff
The add by address feature will probably do what you want. Download the Server Trial from our website and test it out for 30 days free.
