TDC
Retrospect Express 4.1 came with my iMac when I purchased it several years ago, but I never installed it until today. Since purchasing the computer, I've upgraded the OS to 9.2.2. After spending an afternoon frustratingly trying to get Express to work (getting countless Error 100 messages) and subsequently browsing this forum, I'm beginning to conclude that OS 9.2, Express 4.1 and my Imation SuperDisk Drive are just not a working combo. According to the Dantz forum, you need Express 4.3 (and where do you get that?) for compatiblity with 9.2, but only 4.1 works with the SuperDisk Drive. Is this a lost cause? AmyJ
The Imation SuperDisk drive is supported with all versions of Retrospect - not just 4.1. However, as you've noted - Retrospect 4.1 is not compatible with OS 9 and higher. Our current shipping version is Retrospect 5.0, which is available as an upgrade purchase at: Upgrades An upgrade will allow you to use your Imation drive with 9.2.2. Hope this helps! TDC
Thanks. Are you positive Retrospect 5 supports Imation SuperDisk Drive for Mac? The Dantz device compatability table (http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=compatibility list detail&id=7696) indicated v 5.0 for windows and 4.1 for Macintosh. Also, I thought I read in one of the posts that version 4.3 worked for OS 9.2.2. Is this true, and is it a free upgrade to Express 4.1 owners? Thank you! These are the minimum, supported versions - not the only supported versions. I'm positive that this drive is supported with 5.0 Retrospect. 4.3 Express is not a free upgrade - the upgrade cost is $19.95.
