Error message not found in database

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to repair a backup set catalog in version 4.2 and get the error message:

Internal consistency check failed: assertion check at "arc.c-1155"

I didn't find this in the database, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,

What kind of backup set? File, CD, Disk?

What backup device - While in Retrospect, go to Configure > Devices > Device Status and list Vendor, Product and Version for your drive.

Operating System?

What kind of repair? A rebuild or a repair of a file set?

At what point does the error occur?

Sorry about the lack of initial info.

My backup set is of files saved onto ADR tapes

My device is an Onstream SC-30 version 1.06

I'm running OS 9.2.1

I get the error while trying to update an existing catalog file. I'm trying to add a tape to the catalog. It gets about a gig or so into the data and then the error pops up.

Let me know if there's any other info you need. Thanks.

From the Hardware Search Engine:

This drive requires a minimum firmware version of 1.08. Your version is currently at 1.06. You can contact Onstream for updates.

Also, make sure you are using a Retrospect Driver Update with this device - available from:

Updatescolor=blue>

See the following link for device specific information:

Does this happen when attempting to repair/rebuild any other backup sets? Is the problem specific to this one set?

Do the errors happen right away or after a certain amount of data has been read? Always in the same spot?

Do regular backups work properly (without errors)?

What happens if you try to Tools > Repair a different backup set?

The error occurs at the same spot everytime. A little over 2 GB into the data.

Other sets seem to repair fine, but I don't have any to add a tape to.

Regular backups work fine.

I tried a different set and it asked for the last tape in the set. It read that fine and then asked if there were any other tapes in that set. I clicked "no" and it finished without any errors.

The tape previous to the one that I'm trying to add it missing. I'm not sure if that would effect anything or not, but I figured it's worth mentioning.

Thanks again for all the help.

Sean
