MAK
225, not 255 (mistake in typing). Exact error: Device trouble: “First Attempt at WWW”, error 225 (FTP: no write privileges, bad name, or disk full) my system is: Apple iMac with OS 9.1 Retrospect Express 4.3 I can upload using "Fetch" In Retrospect, I can select the Configure Tab, then press the Backup Sets button. I can select the Configure Tab, Create New, then press the Directories button. I can sucessfully log in, and create and select a directory. When I return to the main Retrospect menu, and attempt a backup, I can preview and select files, but the backup fails with the above mentioned error. "Fetch" can upload to the directory. It's an iMac, so I only have the one ethernet port. Any suggestions?
AmyJ
225 (no write privileges bad name or disk full)-Macintosh This error has three possible causes: 1. Your user account on the FTP server does not have server privileges to write data in the directory or on the server. Verify the path to the backup set directory. Contact your FTP server administrator to verify your user account information including write privileges 2. You supplied an invalid name for a new folder. Verify the new folder or backup set name; it may contain characters not allowed by the FTP server. (Some servers allow only the letters A through Z in names.) 3. The FTP server volume on which the backup set resides is full. Contact your FTP server administrator to make more space available on the FTP server volume. You can do this in part yourself by deleting unwanted files from your user directory.
