linguafr
Used Restrospect Express 4.3 on 9.0.4 to backup entire startup drive. Using LaCie Silverlining Pro, I repartitioned drive into 2 HFS+ partitions. Original partition was, I believe HFS. Booted with Norton Utilities CD and restored backup to one of the partitions. I selected that partition as the startup disk. After reboot, just get a happy mac, boot stops at that point. I've also tried using option on reboot and selecting that partition to boot with same result. I've also tried trashing some of the system preferences without success. What about disk drivers? When I run drive setup 2.02, the update driver option is greyed out. Otherwise I've run disk first aid and norton disk doctor and the startup partition checks out ok. So, much for a seamless backup and restore procedure. Any suggestions? Thanks
AmyJ
Is the external boot drive a Firewire drive? What kind of Macintosh?
