jamesiporter
My path indicates that the catalog is a normal backup, combined catalog. Does that mean the catalog is built into the backup? If so, what is the best strategy: keeping a catalog on the HD and a backu pof it on the target drive (along with the backup file), or combinging both in the target drive? I'm not sure how I ended up with a combined file/cat if that is what i had.. please email replies to jport@umich.edu thx
AmyJ
In Retrospect 5.0, the catalog can split from the backup set when the set grows too large. If your catalog has split off from the data file, you'll need to keep copies of both files when moving to another drive for backup. Both files need to be kept together in the same location. In other words, the catalog can't be in a different folder then the data if the backup set catalog is no longer combined.
