sqdbydrb
I am using retrospect express 5.0 to backup to iomega 2GB jaz drive via usb with Mac OS 9.1 on iMac. I am having problems with performance rate which starts at 50 MB/min and dimishes to 9MB/min. Backups are taking hours now as compared to my G3 blue and white. Any ideas on ehy the transfer rate is so slow?
AmyJ
Speed is dependent on many factors: drive, media, connection, size of files, processor, etc. If the same drive, disks and cable work fine on another computer, the goal is to troubleshoot the variables on the new computer. Make sure you have the latest drivers from Iomega installed Turn off any unneeded Extensions to rule out an Extension conflict (try booting with Base Extensions) Make sure the drive is plugged directly into the computer, and not going through a docking station or hub Make sure no other applications are running at the time of the backup
