dalesax
I used Express 5.0 in OSX to backup to a DVD-RW. I've decided to work in OS9 instead and went back to OSX to "erase" the disk with success. Now when I try to insert a DVD-RW (the one above or a new one) in OS9.2.2 , I get a message to initialize. Then another message that "the disk is locked" and the drive spits the disk out. I can insert a CD-RW and this is what shows up in the "Device Status" in Retrospect: ATAPI DVD-R, bus 0, dev 0, v1.4 Without a disk in the drive, it say "No backup devices found". Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Dale
AmyJ
The only DVD-RW drives qualified for use on the Macintosh are the Pioneer DVR-103 (Apple version) and Pioneer DVR-104 (Apple version). Providing you are using one of these two drives, the following information was obtained from the hardware database: Hardware Search Enginecolor=blue> Mac OS 9 Requirements: Mac OS 9.2.1 or later Apple Authoring Support 1.1.2 or later, or Roxio Toast 5.0.2 or later. Retrospect 5.0 must be installed. CD-RW media is not supported for use with Retrospect. Mac OS X does not allow the insertion of DVD-RW media. Do not insert DVD-RW media until Retrospect asks for media.
