Can't Use scroll bar in Volumes Window

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Hope you can help me with a nagging problem. I can't use the scroll bar when selecting a subvolume. The only way I can navigate through the list is using the down arrow key and then when I find my folder I want to designate as a subvolume I click my mouse and it is selected. Why can't I use the mouse to drag the scroll bar on the screen. This also happens in the log - can't use the mouse to drag the scroll bar. Why?

I'm using Mac OS 9.1 with 160MB RAM and Retrospect 5.0. I use it to back up over ethernet my OS X (10.1.5) laptop.

thanks,

Chris

If this is a non-standard mouse (meaning that it did not come with your computer), make sure you are using the most current drivers and software available for your product. Check the vendor site for updates.

Try running Retrospect booted with Base Extensions only - does the problem go away? If so, you may have an Extension conflict.

This is not a known issue of any kind. If problems continue, I would suggest uninstalling Retrospect, rebooting and reinstalling a clean copy. You may have a corrupt file in your installation.

Well, I uninstalled and then reinstalled retrospect (I kept my preferences though) and I can use the scroll bars in the windows were they are present but it takes a while for the scrolling to become enabled (ie., I click and try to drag a bar and nothing happens, but if I wait about 30 seconds or so then I can click and drag the scroll bars. Any ideas why this is happening and it is so slow. I use this as my backup server computer. It is a PowerComputing PowerCenter 150 with 160MB RAM and running OS 9.1 and the latest version of the Retrospect 5.0 build.

I also have the Retrospect 5.0 on my PowerBook G3 500 with 256MB RAM running OS 10.1.5 and it does not have these problems. It is the same build as the PowerComputing Clone, the only difference being the OS used and the RAM.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Chris
