aekalman
I'm wondering how to avoid a problem and can't seem to find a solution mentioned ... Running Retrospect 6.0.193 from a G5 Mac (OSX 10.3.6), backing up itself and a bunch of PCs to hard disk and also to tape ... My problem is that the Retrospect Backup machine is also used while Backup Server is running, and Backup Server seems to "lock out" the G5's Superdrive. The only way to access the SuperDrive is to exit Retrospect completely, which is a pain. Is there some way to tell Retrospect that no backup will ever be written to the SuperDrive, and therefore it should leave the SuperDrive alone and let the user access it even when Retrospect is running? Thanks, --Andrew
natew
Hi In Retrospect open the configure->devices->device status screen. You can select the superdrive and tell Retrospect to ignore that ID. Thanks Nate
