Retrospect Express does NOT find my TDK CD-Witer

I have 2 CD-Writers attached to my PC. 1 is a old SLOW HP attached via IDE and the other is my new FAST USB2 External TDK velocd writer. My problem is that Retrospect does not see the TDK, it only sees the HP. The TDK works, I have already used it to make a music CD and play other CDs. I have deinstalled the program and reinstalled it and it did no good. So why in heavens name doesn't it see this USB2 CD-Writer? The version I am using is 5.6. I hope someone can help because it really pisses me off that there is NO email support and if you want phone support you have to pay. If I had known that when I went looking for a backup utility, I sure the hell wouldn't have bought this one. kimvan

Hi Melissa!

Thanks for the reply, I haven't heard from anyone else.

What do you mean by "I cannot tell with out an inquiry string if it is or not."?

That's the problem I believe and from what I can see, it's not going to be supported, but let me back track and be sure about it 1st.

If it won't work with my TDK, then I want my money back.

Would you know how to go about getting it back?

Thanks again.

Hello again Melissa!

My drive isn't supported.

Mine is USB2.0 and it appears that these are the ONLY TDK drives supported:

TDK veloCD 12/10/32 (CDRW121032 version) ATAPI CD-RW Qualified Unqualified

TDK veloCD 16/10/40 (CDRW161040 version) ATAPI CD-RW Qualified Unqualified

TDK veloCD 8/4/32 (Plextor) ATAPI CD-RW Qualified Unqualified

So I bet you can tell what I want?????

I want my money back!

What do you think I should do?

Thanks,

Kim
