iansime
I'm running OS 10.4.10 and have a dual partitioned hard disk. I get the error Can't access volume G5 250 Backup on Backup, error -53 (volume off-line). This is referring to my 2nd partition which is clearly visible on both the desktop and in System Profiler. Do I just need an update? Any ideas welcome.
twickland
Did you recently partition the drive? It sounds like you may have originally defined "G5 250 Backup" as a subvolume on the volume "Backup," and that that folder is no longer available. If that's the case, go to Configure> Volumes and forget the old subvolume. Then add the new volume to your scripts.
rhwalker
Twickland is right, except that it might also have resulted from a reformatting of the "G5 250 Backup" partition, which would have given it a new volume ID. Solution is the same in either case - forget "G5 250 Backup" from your list of volumes (Configure > Volumes). Russ
