fharczuk
Server edition 7.5 is not backing up windows vista encrypted files. I get this error: "can't read, error -1017 (insufficient permissions)" Had no problems in Windows XP. If I unencrypt the files Retrospect will backup normally. dhamre
Yes, I am having exactly the same issue, running Windows Vista Business with Retrospect Professional 7.5.387 and driver update 7.5.11.100. All of my files are EFS-encrypted and NONE of them will backup (all have -1017 errors). The files backup fine if I decrypt them first (a process that takes several hours and that I do not have time to repeat whenever I want to run a backup). I have tried running Retrospect Administrator, changing NTFS permissions, etc. to no avail. Perhaps this thread should be moved to the Restrospect Professional forum. AmyJ
This has been logged as a bug. Thank you for your input. There is no workaround at this time. Microsoft also has this issue when using the Backup and Restore Center http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934172
