Continue with the recatalog with missing files

Recommended Posts

I have a corrupt catalog file which I am trying to rebuild from a disk based backup set.

The backup set is stored on a NAS device and the catalog file is stored on the server's local hard disk drive.

When I try to rebuild the catalog, it asks me:

Are there any more disks in the backup set?

If I select no (because there is only one disk), it then prompts with the message:

Continue with the recatalog with missing files?

Select Continue to recatalog the disks, the data in the missing files will not be available after the recatalog. Select View to see the missing files and look for them.

If I select View, it shows two RBC files. I can find these files, and they are located in the correct place, but this doesn't seem to fix the issue.

If I select continue, it will rebuild the catalog file.

I then ran a verify against the backup set to ensure that all is ok. The verify stops before it complets - looking for another disk. If I cancel the request for a new disk, then the verify does not complete.

I then get the following error message:

+ Executing Verify at 3/04/2007 1:31 PM

To Backup Set NAS01...

Generated MD5 digest for file "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Retrospect\RtrExec.dir\Exec-1\State\MetaInfo\writer0003\comp0000\file0003" does not match stored MD5 digest.

How do I fix this catalog issue?
