Hi:

I have a problem with EMC Retrospect Multiserver version running on Windows 2003 Server. Sometimes Retrospect stop operations with the message:

ASSERTION FAILURE AT “ELEM.CPP-1000”

Then, the software say that error is located in log file named “assert_log.utx”, but this file don't exist.

The software has the last update files.

Anyone know how to resolve this problem.

Thanks,

Gabriel.

gmoreno,

When do you get the assertion failure? Does this happen at program launch or is when a specific operation is running?

One potential fix is to rename the Retrospect folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data, then relaunch the program. This will, essentially, start the program from scratch as there may be a problem with the configuration file itself. If this doesn't work simply name the folder back to just Retrospect and all your settings will come back.
