TorontoUser
Regarding the update we will be getting to make Express/Express HD Vista compatible. It's just dawned on me that I probably updated to Express HD 2 in vain. If I try to install Retrospect Express HD 1.1.127 on Vista it most likely wont install (I haven't tried this so I'll take your guidance on this) therefore the upgrade I bought to version 2 is probably a waste of time and money on my part. In other words how can I update an application in Vista when it wont install in the first place? The sole reason I upgraded to version 2 was to get this Vista update. TorontoUser
In answer (partially) to my own question. Retrospect Express HD 1, 1.1.126 and 127 and 2 will install and I can even register them. But the hitherto visible external drive became invisible to Vista because it couldn't find any drivers for it, even on my original installation disk...why now I'm not sure. However I told Vista to scan my XP partition and lo and behold, the drive is now visible and Express HD appears to be OK even though we haven't got the driver yet. Mind you I haven't dared to try backups yet! Vista has its own backup software anyway. Update 13 Feb: Today's update is the Vista enabling one.
