Retrospect Suddenly Asks for Administrator Password?

Recommended Posts

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.8 on a MacBook Pro and Restrospect 6.1 with the latest driver update. When I launch Retrospect soon after restarting the computer, it starts as it should ... no password required as I instructed in Preferences. After running it a few times (haven't counted how many) when I launch it by clicking on the icon in the dock, an EMC box appears asking for an Administrator Password. Two issues:

1. I configured Restrospect not to ask for the password and it runs fine for a while, then begins this.

2. When I enter the proprer administrator password for the computer and hit "OK", the dialog box disappears and Retrospect does not launch.

The only work around I've found is to totally restart the Mac.

Any suggestions? I never saw this before moving to the MacBook Pro.
