Retro 5.6 and Quantum tape drive help

Recommended Posts

I'm having some problems getting a Windows XP Pro machine with Retrospect 5.6 to work with a Quantum ATL7100 tape drive and Adaptec AHA-2944UW SCSI cards.

Retrospect sees the unit on Device/Configure but there's a pretty bare minimum of functionality to it. Bar codes on the tapes cannot be read. Tapes can be loaded into drives but as far as writing, naming or retention it's pretty much nil.

Are there certain settings I need to have the tape drives, cards, etc, set at for things to start communicating?
