safestone
I've searched the knowledge base but can't find anything about this. Running Retrospect 5.5.144 and had no problems with it. However have just moved our CVS server from one machine to another and now can no longer use Retrospect to backup or even add the new share to the backup script. The new machine has the same IP address as the old one, and the share name is the same, it's just the administration password which has changed, I can map a share to it and view the contents in Windows explorer, but Retrospect balks when at the 'Adding Network Volume' screen with the following error: "Error accessing the specified path, cannot add this path to the database". I have told Retrospect to forget the old share, and am recreating a link to it, but it just won't. Any ideas how we can get around this one? Brendan. natew
Hi Do you have any trouble accessing the share with Windows? Retrospect browses the network the same way that Windows would. Thanks Nate
safestone
No problem accessing it through Windows, can go straight in, view files, move stuff around etc without a hitch. Retrospect on the other hand won't have any of it. Even if you navigate to it, double-click on the share you want, enter the username and password, it will still then deny you access... natew
Hi Have you tried using clean Retrospect preference files? You can do this by renaming the config5x.dat and config5x.bak located in the Retrospect program folder. Thanks Nate
