jlooyestein Posted March 11, 2003 Report Share Posted March 11, 2003 5.6 running on W2K server SP3 - Sony SDT-11000 Manually starting a backup I get no errors, but everytime it does a scheduled backup, I'm getting error 206. This started about 2 weeks ago. Has been running problem free for over a year. The drive is cleaned regularly. Has happened with 4 new tapes from two different manufacturors. AmyJ Posted March 12, 2003 Report Share Posted March 12, 2003 Have you tried a complete manual backup more then once? If not, one successful execution may not mean anything. If you can run multiple backups (of the same sources running at night) during the day, yet you are seeing errors at night, look to see what else is running at night. There may be a system conflict that is causing communication errors with the tape drive. Try setting a backup to run a few minutes in the future - do you see the same errors?
