retrospect 5.0.238 and panther 10.3.4

I just purchased a maxtor onetouch ext fire wire/usb hardrive (160gb) which came with retrospect 5.0.238. I am using a 600mhz g3 ibook running panther 10.3.4.

I have 2 questions:

 

1- Is 5.0.238 compatible with 10.3.4, or should I be running a more current version of both? (I am thinking of running the 10.3.6 updater).

 

2- I tried to do a complete system backup and on the initial run I got a window reporting 32 execution errors. I opened the log and most of these seem to be diff. creation or modification dates/times, diff. data sizes. What does this mean?
