dmaccole
I've checked around on the board and in the knowledge base and I'm not clear about something: I'm about to make the Great Leap Forward and start converting some OS 9 machines to OS X. I am currently using Retrospect 4, so I know I will have to upgrade. Will I be able to run a mixed environment, where the server backup machine is still on OS 9, while some of the clients are OS X 10.3 (while others are still on OS 9)? Or will I have to switch the server backup machine to OS X 10.3 to be able to support a mixed environment? I guess the question could be put another way: Can a server running 5.1 back up a client running 6? Thanks. \dmc
natew
Hi You can do it that way with no trouble. In my opinion it is best to start with an OSX backup machine if you can. Down the road this will save you the trouble of making new backup sets when you start using Retrospect 6.0. Thanks Nate
