bookstore
I am running Retrospect Workgroup on an OS X 10.2.8 OS X Server (G4 Dual Processor) to backup one server (the same server Retrospect is running on) and a mix of Mac and Windows clients. The clients have folders set to Private (•on folder/file names) and those items are not being backed up. That is good. However, I don't see anyway to activate the Private Folder preference for the server running the Retrospect Workgroup application. I have searched through all the tabs and preferences and there doesn't seem to be an option for telling the backup to ignore Privately marked files. Is this on purpose? Since this is a file server as well, I don't want some large folders backed up but the bullets on folders are being ignored. Thanks you.
AmyJ
On the local machine you will need to create a Selector (Special > Selectors) to filter out the folders you want to exclude.
shadowspawn
It is "on purpose" since the functionality is the clients keep certain files private from the server. (Rather than the server seeing the file but choosing not to back them up, which is subtly but significantly different!)
